Paint Shop Pro X4 will not launch

My newly installed from CD PSP X4 will not open. A microsoft error message appears immediately. The error reads:-

faulting application corel paintshop pro.exe
faulting module corecolormgr.dll
fault address 0x000084f2

Has anyone got any ideas as I have no idea where to go from here? I have tried resetting the DEP, disabling antivirus and firewall and cleaning the registry but no joy. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no difference.

I have the exact same problem too.. I don't have any problems with PSP X4 trial version on my laptop but it just doesn't open on my other pc. I'll be glad if someone could help us.. thanks in advance

Since this comes up on top of a Google search for this problem it would be nice if someone had an answer for this issue.

A closer look at the crash report would clue you in to the core of this problem
"feature not supported" is the key word here.

Your CPU does not support SSE2 i.e. you're running an Athlon XP...
Unfortunately it seems that the library corecolormgr.dll was compiled for the SSE2 instruction set.

There is nothing that you can do besides switching to a more recent CPU.

Thanks BakedPie, I have been in touch with tech support and sadly they say more or less the same thing. Looks like I'll just have to wait until I can upgrade.
