X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
Under preferences, if you select exclude a file type ("File Format Exclusions"), it has no effect on the files located and shown by Organizer. I am trying to exclude Adobe .pdf files and cannot get it to do so. Any ideas? or is this a bug?

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
It appears that it may be a bug. There's still things that Corel is working on. Using your example of *.PDF, I have a separate folder where I keep all my PDF documents. I just don't select that folder in the organizer.
None the less I think that you should report your findings to Corel.

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
I posted my issues here first to check that I was not missing something easy. Since I received no fixes here, I've reported all of my "findings" (glitches, preferences, etc.) to Corel with limited acknowledgement so far. With a new release out there I'm guessing they are a bit busy.

UPDATE: Corel has confirmed that they can duplicate the problem and will address it in a future update / fix.

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
@DENedbalek
There is a known problem that XP users are not asked if they want to associate file extensions with PSPX4 and file extensions are automatically associated with X4. This leads to the problem that if you remove PSPX4 under XP, you have to associate each file type on your own in Windows.
Windows 7 and Vista is quite different. I have Vista at home and there is no file format/extension associated with PSPX4. If I go to Manage mode -> Browse for more folders and I choose Desktop (e.g.), then I get all jpgs and pdfs on my desktop shown.
The File format exclusion in Preferences only means "should I open a JPG with PSPX4?" (e.g.)
Could you please describe what you are trying to do and what the target is in your case?

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
Under preferences->Manage there are options to exclude file types and folders from Manager. It does not work. If I specify to exclude .pdf's it does not exclude .pdf's.

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
What do you understand under exclude?
I have disabled all file associations in Preferences - Manage
When I use the Manage organiser, I still get my JPGs and PDFs shown, but both types are opened by Adobe's Acrobat Reader resp. Windows Picture viewer as default programs.
If exclude means in your opinion that the organizer doesn't have to show them, then it doesn't work like this. Otherwise we wouldn't get to see any image like our JPGs in PSP.

This is what PSP X4 Help says:

This does not happen"Exclude specific file formats from appearing in the Manage workspace"

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
Sorry, of course, I never noticed the Help description for it. I associated this setting with "Windows -> Open with".
We have to extend the problem to all file types because, it doesn't work at all. I just tested it in X2 and if I exclude JPG in X2, then they are not shown, but X4 shows them nevertheless.
I will look into the escalation process.
I do apologise for my "thick-wittedness"; I have never used the organizer as user of PSP.

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
That's OK, Simone
The fact that this does not work is precisely why I don't bother with the Organizer - too many faults.
I think you should add to your escalation what I said elsewhere about "Uncataloged Folders":
BUT
if you click on it again, all the contents is neatly cataloged for you

Re: X4 Organizer "Exclude" does not work
I can't confirm last one or I go another way:
I add a certain folder on my desktop to the "Uncataloged Folders".
I go in Manage to Browse for more Folders and choose the one.
That particular folder is marked as not show-able. I click on it, still nothing happens.
I close PSPX4 and re-open it. Still the same, I can't get to show.
I have to remove this folder from the "Uncataloged Folders" list, and then it shows the content.

I'm running out of "Uncataloged Folders" with JPEGs in them to view so I can't easily repeat what I did beforeSimone Corel UK wrote:Sorry, it's still not clickable. No image is shown.Click on any other folder and then go back and click on the "Uncataloged" one again.
Can you report it anyway with the other issue please, Simone?

Yes, the other issue is no problem, easy to reproduce, but I can't escalate something that I can't reproduce.
