Installing Video Studio Pro X4 on my laptop

Post by ydv2011 »

Hi,

Previously I installed 30 day trial version of ulead 11 plus on my laptab and then uninstalled it. Now I have purchased Pro X4. When I run vsx4_pro_pf.exe file, it goes through install shield wizard successfully and then opens a blank (white) square and nothing happens after that. Basically it is not getting the screen where it ask for licensing details. I have tried the following:
1. Down loaded the file many times. This is a correct 767MB file.
2. Following instructions given for -Installing your down load version
3. Deleted all Corel or Ulead related files from the registry

My guess is that there is some conflict because this laptop had the free ulead 11 plus trial version installed arlier. I can not ativate the trial as I have already uninstalled the trial version. I used to get stuck up at the same step when I tried to download 30 day free trial of Pro x4. I thought that this is not allowing me to install pro-x4 free trial as I already had ulead 11 plus free trial version in the past on the same laptop. Because of this I decided to buy the software but the problem remains the same.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards

I don't think there is any conflict with VS11 version you had installed. There has been a small number of other users with a similar problem to you, however. The usual solution which worked for them was to go into Control Panel > User Accounts, and set up a new account with Administrative privileges (regardless of the fact that your current account probably has Admin privileges as well). Then when you are logged into the new account, try installing X4 in that account. If that works, then you can log out of the account and log back into your original account and X4 should continue to work.

Hi Ken,

Thank you so much for your reply. I tried it but the problem remains the same. Is there anything else I can try?
