Email error in X4
When I try to email an image from the trial version of PSP X4 I get the following error message:
"One or more unspecified errors occurred. No message sent."
The message comes up after the initial preparation of the image is completed and the program goes to link with the email (standard MS Mail in Vista).
I have use the similar email function in X2 without any problem and without making having to take any steps to set it up.
I would like to know if my problem is unique and would welcome any suggestions for fixing it.

Re: Email error in X4
I have no problems sending emails from PSP X4 with Attachments or Embedded Images, using Microsoft Outlook 2010.
These Images can be Small, Medium (default), Large, Original (no resizing) or Cell Phone. At an early stage in the beta testing, sending Embedded Images did not work but now there is no problem.
However, I have a friend, using Microsoft Windows Live Mail, and she cannot see the Images when I email them to her.
I do not use the facility enough to investigate further and see if others such as Hotmail users might not see the images.

Re: Email error in X4
There is indeed a problem with Windows Mail which has been escalated this morning. The message that no program has been set as default mail program will appear.

Re: Email error in X4
Simone, I need to double check with you here. Are you saying the error davmusrmid is getting is linked to the error message about there not being an email client? Or are these two different problems?
I ask because I get both error messages with Thunderbird. Now I can blame the "There is no default email client" message on the fact that no email client outside of the full version of Outlook uses the Extended MAPI. That I know of at least. Which is fine. But that's not the error I and davmusrmid are talking about.
If I go to email my image I get the message that there is no default email program, which is annoying mind you, and then I get the dialog shown by Tadjio.
When finally sending it to my email client it first says "there is no default"(again) and then claims it could not send the message using the error that davmusrmid reported.
Now I just want to make sure because I could not tell by your message, Simone. Is the error "One or more unspecified errors occurred. No message sent." given as a result of a bug where PSP does not find an email client capable of Extended MAPI? Or are these two different error messages that need to be looked into?

@Levifiction
We are currently looking into this topic "sending pictures in PSPX4". As you wrote, it's no problem with Outlook but as soon as we use another mail program, then an error "One or more unspecified errors occurred. No message sent" seems to appear or in case of Windows Mail, "there is no default email program".

Re: Email error in X4
Well just to emphasize one point. As a Thunderbird user I get both of those errors. The "No default email client" and "No message sent."
Also Tadjio is reporting that even though it can send to Outlook, Outlook is not properly sending the images either because it doesn't properly recieve them or something on Outlook's end. But it's so hard to tell.

Thanks DaveQ
I sent the link for this topic here to the DevTeam so that they can have a look. The more users test it with their system and e-mail-program, the better the DevTeam gets an overview (I think so, I have no idea what the reason for this problem is).
My one is Vista 32 bit and The Bat!

Re: Email error in X4
The problem is this, it appears X4 has been coded to directly address Outlook, in so doing it ignores the Default mail client setting on the computer.
It should be calling up the computers default mail client, not its own preference.
I know the mail client on my machine is set as default, as in all other circumstances it is called for email purposes.
Here, Outlook on that machine is used for other things and has *never* been configured for email, and In Outlook "Tool-Options "Make Outlook the default program for email etc.." is unticked.
There is a temporary work around...
Open the (default) mail client app with a new write mail window ready.
Drag 'n Drop the required image(s) from the Organizer window to the mail write window.
Can't say what any of your mail clients will do with that, but on mine, it accepts them, one or many as attachments.

Re: Email error in X4
It appears from a reply posting in the Corel X2/X4 Newsgroup I am in error with my assumptions. Sorry about that...
However, I'm still convinced that...
(a) X4 should not be calling anything other than the default set mail client.
But...
(b) More importantly. A graphics app shouldn't be doing email in the first place... Horses for courses as the saying goes.
Developers should concentrate on improving the graphics capability of PSP not pissin about time/resource wasting with email capability (Which it still doesn't have).
I guess next we'll get Thunderbird doing Image editing... Then heaven help us, how about using a mobile phone to make actual voice calls... Nah! that just a fantasy on my part.
Spare straight jacket anyone...

I totally agree with you. Stick to the basics and get away from the "there's an ap for that" mentality.arturox wrote: snip. . .

Re: Email error in X4
Well...to be fair this has been a part of PSP for a while so it's not like it's new. And some people have actually claimed to buy PSP because they can email from it. Much as we hate the idea others love it. And what the public wants....28% get.
Also it does look at the default email client it just mistakenly doesn't find one for Extended MAPI and reports a problem. Then doesn't send it properly over MAPI anyway.

Re: Email error in X4
Has there ever been a solution to this issue? I am using XP with all service packs and updates X4 and Thunderbird. I have never used outlook but X4 keeps insisting that I need to set up Outlook as my default
email client. It would be nice to have this feature working but it's only a minor inconvenience. I had a work around but that was only for Vista and Win7.

Generelly, we have no date when a service pack will be released, but we heard that SP 1 will not take ages before it comes.
