Pixel-precise alignment graphics & text in PSP X4

Post by Radim »

Hello,

it is possible draw objects - rectangles, circles, rounded corners and create text objects - aligned to screen pixels? Photoshop has it - Pixel-Precise Alignment. Result is -- an edges are not blured, example - http://www.grafika.cz/images7/PS_tutori ... ts_09f.jpg

Hello Radim,

I'm not exactly sure what "aligned to screen pixels" are you referring to but when I try to zooming at 1200% and created a rectangle vector (even raster) object, the edge just snap right into the screen pixels.

You may want to look into the GRID, GUIDE & SNAP PROPERTIES, you can open that via VIEW > CHANGE GRID, GUIDE & SNAP PROPERTIES.

Others may have a better idea what you are talking about.

No, PSP does not have that. That being said the vectors, by default, snap at half-pixel increments. At a full pixel the edge blurring is very minute, still there but less noticeable, and go too far it jumps the anti-aliasing into the next pixels making the blurred edge more noticeable once more.

So it will never be perfect but it can get close. You can turn off snapping to the center of the pixel (In your General Program Preferences) but it doesn't offer any more precise control.
