Help reproducing printing problem...

Post by RabbitWolf »

Hi Everyone,

I am having a printing problem that started with X3 and is still present in X4. I hope that some of you might try these simple steps and see if the problem is present for you too.

Here are the steps:

Create a a New Image with these parameters:

Width: 11 inches
Height: 8.5 inches
Resolution: 72 pixels/inch

Vector Background
Grey - 16 bits/channel

Once the blank image has been created, add a line of text at the top of the image with the Text Tool. Then add a separate line of text at the bottom of the image so that you have two text object. Then send the image to your printer in landscape mode.

When I do this, only the text at the top of the page prints. The text at the bottom of the page does not. Can anyone else reproduce this?

Thank You,
Tracy

No, it's not just you. I followed your steps and got the same result - only the text on the top of the page prints.

I did some additional testing and found a solution/workaround. If you "merge visible" prior to printing, both the top and bottom text prints.

Hi Kathy_9,

Thanks for testing this out...

I finally had to purchase a support incident and it took the technician about all of ten minutes to reproduce the problem. The email support was worse than useless. I already knew about using merge, but the result is very blurry and not satisfactory. Anyway, Corel is aware of the problem and will hopefully come out with a proper fix sooner rather than later.

Or convert to raster. I always do a final merge before printing so I tend to miss...highly specific things like this.
