AVCHD 1080p50

Post by Gaudi »

Dear all,
I have source video files in AVCHD 1920x1080 format, progressive mode, 50 frames per second.
I would like to keep this format when editing and generating video files, when using those sources.
Currently I only managed to create either 1920x1080 p 25 or 1280x720 p 50 but I was not able to keep 1920x1080 p 50 format.

Is anybody managed to generate 1080p50 files with VideoStudio X4 pro ?

Thanks for your help

Unfortunately, VS is not yet ready to produce AVCHD video with 50/60 true progressive frame speed. As you have found, the only AVCHD it can produce is in the formats you have found. I have pressed Corel on several occasions to update the program, but their response has been that there are still not enough of the cameras out there that produce that speed. So all I can suggest is that you send in a complaint direct to Corel. This is a user to user Web Board and we are not Corel employees. Apart from one or two employees who come here now and again, Corel does not regularly consult this Board.

That being said, if all you want is files that play on your computer, then you can go to Share > Create Video File > Custom -- or Settings > Make Movie Template Manager -- and choose AVI as the output format. Several of the codecs under the compression tab will allow you to create a file with 1920 x 1080 at 50 or 60 frames per second. However, as AVIs, they cannot be used to burn Blu-Ray or AVCHD hybrid discs. And the latter in any case, as far as I am aware, do not accept 50/60 fps in any case. I also suspect that the international format for Blu-Rays only accepts the formats you have already produced, though I could be wrong on that.

Many thanks Ken for this quick and clear feed back.

Yes, I have opened a case on Corel assistance ...I wait for their response.

I will test AVI file and check if they are supported by my dlna player.
