PSP X3 just crashed again: does that mean I have to buy X4?

Post by SJS »

PSP X3 is not as reliable as PSP X, and I don't suppose it is likely to become more stable now the new version is out!

Having had to buy PSPX3 as new this spring with my migration to Windows 7, I really don't want to buy the X4 upgrade already!
What to do? Move to Photoshop? Gimp? Krita?

Aaargh!
I am running PSP Photo Pro X3 13.2.1.20. When I check for updates, I see "no updates available" & this is the system info provided minus the serial number:

PaintShop Photo Pro Build Information:
Build Date Tuesday, December 07, 2010 @ 17:17:22
Build Mode Release (D000000)

How does this equate to the various service packs shown in patches & updates??

Thanks

Go back to X until X4 is proved stable and bug-free as possible, then upgrade.

If you can tell us more about the problem that you are experiencing, that will surely help the other forum users. In anycase, have you tried download all the updates for PSP X3? If not then you can download all the updates at http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 9872271743

And same one again: open, edit, save and close a photo, then open next new photo, go to perspective correction, start to move a corner, then:

MS Visual C++ Runtime Library error R6025 - pure virtual function call (shows over & over on OK) finally I close enough popups and PSP gives up (crashes).

This not the only error/crash but the only one I have recorded so far.

Well I could not get X3 to be very reliable on my computer, although none of my other programs just quit on me like PSP does!

So yesterday I paid the (bargain price) dues to "upgrade" to X4. Hope that it is more stable. It is certainly uglier (black workspace is the only choice).
