I have some problems rendering my files in vs 7. The original files are .avi and in "Share"- create videofile I chose DVD (mpeg).
They are about 1 h and 30 minutes each. When 90% of the film has been rendered a sign comes up that says: Failes to encode the video. [2000:1:1]
Doe´s anyone no what I chould do? I´m starting to loose my patience...
I also had some problems burning a DVD but after I downloaded the Burning engine that problem was solved.
Thanks for your quick answer!

Rendering problems
I have the same problem as yours. In fact, exact the same problem: Fails to encode the video. [2000:1:1] at around 90% of rendering time. I wonder what this mean... I have VideoStudio 8. Did you hear/find anything to remedy this? I'm thinking of reducing the length of my video to one hour or to 3.39 GB.

Where do you have your Working Folder located?
If it's still in the standard location on C: and you have < 6-8 gigs of free space then during a render the export and temp files may become large enough to nearly fill C:. This in turn can choke off the Windows swapfile, throwing either a VideoStudio or Windows memory error.
Move the Working Folder off the C: drive and to another HDD, clearing out the old WF when you're done (copying the old contents to the new WF is OK).
Now try again.

Rendering Error: Failed to encode the video. [2000:1:1]
Terry and jchunter, i tried all your suggestions. I have tried to save the video file on a different hard drive (D: drive) along with your other suggestions, but I still get the error message: Failed to encode the video [2000:1:1]. Maybe if I change my project settings to the same compression rate as my video clips, it might work. Who knows.... My video clips compression rate is at 8000 bps (Variable), and my current project settings compression rate is 6000 bps (Constant). But if you have other ideas to solve this error, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Rendering Error: Failed to encode the video. [2000:1:1]
Found a resolution to this rendering problem. Just make your project compression rate settings the same as the compression rate of your video clips, and you will no longer encounter this error message: Failed to encode the video [2000:1:1]. The rendering process is way fast, too! Mine was reduced was from seven hours to two hours or less after making the compression rates the same.
