Thanks for taking the time to do all these tests Tadjio. While I normally to not use the export/jpeg optimizer feature to save files, in my system it still cuts the file size dramatically.
Whether the quality appears similar or not, the reality is many of my clients only look at file size to judge whether or not it is hi-res or not.

Are they clients who insist on 300ppi Images as well?
You could resize at 300ppi Maintaining Print Size and get a ten-fold larger file size..

Hmm, that's an interesting observation I hadn't even noticed.
Uprezzing causes a loss of quality that I'm not satisfied with, although it certainly does bring the file size up.
