I guess the important update question is...
When is the first update patch for X4 being released?

At present I'm running the X4 Trial version, and after wasting a lot of lolly on X, X1, X2, X2U, X3, X3U I'm not shelling out more dough until a couple of issues with X4 are sorted.

Tried to run the installed for the local help. Runs for a while and then says no update is necessary. Any help to install the local help file?

And I just tried this latest one and got the 'no update necessary' message again. I am running X4 Ultimate, by the way... When I press the Help button, I get switched to my browser which brings up a screen in PDF format with the User Guide Chapters listed down the left hand side and a search function. I had already downloaded the PDF X4 User Guide to my computer anyway some time ago...

Does this help file update change the version number of the program?

Not for those of us who get a 'no update necessary' message when trying to install it. My version number is 14.0.0.332, by the way -- unchanged since installed from the boxed Ultimate edition.

EDIT: The more I think about it, the more I think that for some reason or other, the Help files were not included in the original download version but were in the boxed (vanilla and Ultimate?) version... In other words, we get that message because it literally means we don't need the update.

I got when I downloaded the X4 at the special price..

Yes -- that is definitely my version number. But it seems to be across the spectrum since even the beta testers had 14.0.0.332 as the last version they received before X4 was released.

Ultimate is not a version, it's just PSP with the Bonus Pack included. PSPX2 Ultimate was the only "Ultimate" that was its own version.

Corel gave me for free X2 Ultimate.. have had a reply from Corel they tell me my version X4 14.0.0.332 is the latest doesn't require the patch,
but they were not much help with Filters Unlimited I will keep at them..Cheers
