PaintShop X4 Browser Issue

Post by AviatorFrank »

Possible bug:

I have several folders with 1000-1200 images (jpegs) in each. When I first view the folder, it takes PSP some time to load all the images. That's understandable, but when I return to the same folder, the thumbnails are blurry unless I click on one of them. Then the page clears up but when I scroll down, again the thumbnails are blurry.

Also, scrolling with the mouse causes the folder to "snap back" to the top of the list, instead of scrolling down through the files.

In old versions of PSP there was a pspbrowse file stored in the folders to facilitate viewing. Does X4 have something similar? I see no option anywhere to enable/disable it if there is.

Thanks for anyone's help!

Are you talking about the Organizer/Manage Tab, or are you talking about when you click Open or Ctrl O? If it's the Open dialog then this is dependent on the Operating system rather than PSP from what I understand. At any rate I've just tried looking at a few folders that had a half thousand CR2 files in it, navigated away to a different folder, came back to the large number of Canon RAW files and the views were nearly instantaneous.

As for the Manage tab, those thumbnails are viewing rather quickly too.

I assume that the pspbrowse file would be for the Manage tab and not the Open dialog at any rate.
Sorry to be of little help. But I'm not seeing what you're seeing for whatever reason.
Regards, Dan

When you say "In old versions of PSP.." it would help if you tell us what version of PSP are you referring.

Most people here do not like the organizer of PSP X3 and they very much prefer the organizer or media tray of PSP x2 which is also available on PSP X4.
