Hi Filly,

Probably...I posted a message myself about FU and X3. Since I re-installed it and skipped the updates, X3 and filters work fine. I do see there's a new service pack out for it that's supposed to fix the issue but I'm not going to install the previous packs to install this new one and I don't want to take any chances with it not working.

I agree that they shouldn't have released X4 without fixing this issue. I can only hope that it gets fixed when they release teh first update for it.

I don't recall how much I paid for my X4 ultimate but it wasn't that bad of a price for the full version. I had just purchased X3 ultimate (full version) in the past few months. Ontop of the upgrade version or regular X3 and another full version of X3 that was my husband's....So yes I have 3 versions of X3. I also have X2 ultimate full version.

I started with X2 ultimate. I then buoght the upgrade to X3. Then my husband wanted a copy of X3 as he said he wanted to learn....which he didn't. I wanted to be able to continue using X2 as well as X3....while I could do that already, I believe it wasn't technically legal since I purchased the upgrade version. So I bought the full version for myself. Then a few months ago they offered that deal for X3 ultimate (full version) for less than I had paid for my other version. I liked what was included, so I bought that. But when I installed it, I realized it had the FU bug! I was ticked. I decided to try to install SP2 even though it was backtracking my version and that worked. Now it no longer says ultimate, but I don't care. So frankly, I should have gotten X4 ultimate for free...but I wanted it, so i bought it. Wasn't happy when I saw that FU bug there. But did like how much faster things installed and ran. So I'm putting up with the bugs and keeping my fingers crossed.

They better not be planning X5 already or I'll flip! LOL!

I am quite impressed with X4 much as I was against buying it..
but like you sad they hadn't fixed the FU problem..
perhaps if enough of us complain they may get their act together..
the fact that it works with patch2 in X3 they must know what the problem is..
Why did you have to buy extra copies for your husband to use ..
I have mine installed in both my big computer and laptop..
Cheers

Hi FIlly,

My husband and I each have our own notebook computers. Most of the software we have is a 1 user / 1 computer license. I'm not sure what the license agrement is for PSP. But I would assume it's either 1 user / 1 computer or 1 user / 2 computers -with only one copy running at a time.....I could be wrong. Usually for those programs that we both use, if they aren't free, I buy two copies of them....Luckily for the most part we use different stuff. We both have Windows 7 which came with our computers. We both use Microsoft Office...but I use Home & Student as I only needed those programs...whereas he uses a different version as he needed some of the other programs. I don't even think he has PSP installed on his computer now because it's a pretty new computer and I know that I didn't install it for him. He has Serif's photo program on his which he got in a bundle purchase with the web program and some other stuff from them that he needed.

As far as the second copy of it, I bought it because my copy was an upgrade to X3 and I wanted to legally continue using X2. Usually when you buy an upgrade version, you are supposed to stop using the version you upgraded from.

You can certainly instal Corel products on more than one computer, though are supposed to only have one open at any one time. (So watch out for the EULA police!! ) And you can also certainly have more than one version of a Corel product on your computer, even if one is an updated version based on another. The programs install quite separately. Although at the moment I only have PSP X3 on one computer, and X4 on another, with Corel Video Studio, I have X2, X3 and X4 on two computers, and X2 and X3 on a third... Oops... is that the EULA police knocking at my door???

Good morning Ken,

LOL! That was part of the reason I bought him his own copy. Most of the time it would just be the one copy in use, but I didn't want to take the risk. And yes I do know that when you install a new version of PSP...whether it's a full version or upgrade, that it installs independantly. I just wanted to be "legal" and not have to worry about it.

I'd like to install my husband's copy of Serif's PagePlus on my computer to play with it. One of their support people said that yes it was fine to install any of their stuff on two computers. But then when he was talking to someone else at Serif, they said that only for one person and that both couldn't be running at the same time. So I didn't install it on mine. Besides when he installed all the Serif programs he purchased, he had to call them to get a code to activiate them. I hate that. It came with a code but you needed a second code.

Hi, I have recently updated from X3 to X4 and am having difficulty getting my plugin's working in X4 (specifically Photolooks, which is the single best plugin available, IMO). I have already "pointed' to photolooks in X4 preferences but the plugin is still not showing. I see others have gotten it to work in X4...any suggestions?

I received the plug-in w/X3 and it's located C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Photo Pro\X3\PSPClassic\Languages\EN\PlugIns . I just pointed X4 to this location.

Hi Kathy...Yea, I did the same thing but Photolooks still not showing in X4. This is driving me crazy because I really like X4 but LOVE Photolooks. For now I am forced to switching back and forth between the two. Cant think of anything else to get it to work.

That is strange. Okay, just double checking to make sure something simple was not overlooked in the process. Did you go into File -> Preferences -> File Locations (Plug-ins) and add the path mentioned in my earlier post? And, did you double check that is really where your Magic Bullet PhotoLooks plug-in is located because there's no sense pointing to that location if the plug-in isn't there.

After that, I'm out of ideas. . . sorry :(
