Re: PaintShop Pro X4--Wishlist for Future Versions
Do you mean they could be "compatible" to a certain point????

Re: PaintShop Pro X4--Wishlist for Future Versions
Depends on what you mean by compatible, some commands may be but they still can't run each other's scripts. But let's not continue to waste space talking when we could be wishing.
I want Render Clouds. Unless Corel is going to be shipping each new version with the KPT plugin set, and we all know they may not, then we need Render Clouds built in. It doesn't have to be as fancy as KPT Noize. Just a simple perlin noise equation is all I'm asking for.
Improved scripting support. New documentation to match any changes in the commands. Access to the new features and old features that have not been included yet. Layer Styles come to mind, we can set them but we can't access them. What is that all about?
A Plugin command list so there is no more testing and guess work to find out if the code we have works when developing plugins for PSP. A guide for building them would be better but I don't want to go too far.

Re: PaintShop Pro X4--Wishlist for Future Versions
What does Render Clouds do? I"ve got an Adobe version of the filter and all it does is add a photo of some clouds to my image. There are no settings or options to set. I'm guess that you're talking about something different. There's also another filter that came with it called Merge Clouds and that one sort of turns my picture into a negative image. I'm not seeing anything useful about either one.LeviFiction wrote:I want Render Clouds. It's a building block filter. But I don't want to clutter this forum so I'll send you a PM about it.

Re: PaintShop Pro X4--Wishlist for Future Versions
I fully agree MarkyM's points above. Having PSP X4 trial in use and cannot find enough relevant enhancements worth to losing X3's interface and useability. Wondering if I am on quite wrong path with this update; As there was claimed in couple of posts here, that X4 is Painting (or "paint") program rather than photo editor. At least the word "photo" has dropped out from the name...that sounds like a good explanation.MarkyM wrote:Hi Ron and Thanks for this.
I am liking X4 so far and can think of 2 things I'd like to see in the next patch/update:
1) A return to the color icons. The monochrome icons look like a step back. Maybe provide an option to select either color or mono.
2) With the navigation and Organizer easily available from the Edit view, I have no need for the "Manage" view (and the IQ there doesn't seem as good) but I really like the new "Info" palette that seems only to be available there. In Edit view, we still have the same old clunky "Image Info" window.
So I would really, really like to see the "Info" palette from the Manage view implemented in the Edit view.

Maybe there is, later on, coming PaintShop Photo Pro X4 for me and MarkyM(?)

1. a command list that show script of a command that we can copy/paste. And detail explanation of every parameters. A "command list" palette is nice.
2. in facebook web page, drag a photo onto PSP directly.
3. drag a script url (from web browser) and drop onto PSPP to apply on active document.
4. ability to encrypt scripts.
5. can embed script or preset in an image file (like exif,) then I can share to others.
6. In learning center, I can see someone's tutorial (video, photo, and its scripts) And, I can click on that script to run on my image directly.
7. can upload my scripts to corel forum to share.
8. save vector as SVG.
9. better object extractor.
10. "effect browser" as a palette, not a menu command to show a dialog box.

To 2: not needed for many user, too specific, PSP is not FB utility.
To 3: what? not needed. To risky and security hole can do this!! Scripts are too powerful, there must be user too careful.
To 4: why? I want to share, I offer it. I do not want, I do not.
To 5: too specific. The same chanel you share image, share script also.
To 6: ..explain it more, can't understand. Is somewhere any example?
To 7: try Inkscape, then import to PSP some vector format. There are limitations, but it works fine in X2 up to X4.
To 9: there are many effective ways to do it, here in forum you will find some.
To 10: not necesary, how many users go through this often?? I do not thing many..

It's a minor issue, but how about a drop down in the cropping tool list of sizes above 8x10? I know I can get there "other ways", but 11x14 is fairly common with most decent printers these days.

Are you referring to the Cloud filter with KPT? There is also Scene Builder that Corel omitted to include. Maybe they will come with X5?LeviFiction wrote:It's a building block filter. But I don't want to clutter this forum so I'll send you a PM about it.

Re: PaintShop Pro X4--Wishlist for Future Versions
I've never heard of KPT Clouds. Is it similar to KPT SkyEffect? Well Corel didn't maintain some of the original KPT plugins so who knows if we'll ever see the ones that were left out.
No, I'm talking about "Render Clouds." We recieved as part of the KPT plugins KPT Noize which performs this function beautifully. KPT Noize performs a function known as Perlin Noise. Perlin Noise is the base for the popular "Render Clouds" option inside of Photoshop, The GIMP, Paint.NET, SumoPaint, Blender, and many more. It's a very very basic filter that I'm asking for, KPT Noize offers more variety and options right out of the box but again we aren't guaranteed the KPT filters with each new version so I want something built in.

I haven't heard for Render Clouds and it's not in my set of KPT. I didn't install the ones that came with X4 because I already had a full set of KPT.
There are two filters, Sky Effects and also Scene Builder. It's a pity Corel didn't include those with X4.

You didn't have KPT Noize with your full set of KPT plugins?

Re: PaintShop Pro X4--Wishlist for Future Versions
So far I just have 4
1) Resizing in pixels. Many photo oriented websites where photos can be uploaded (for whatever purpose) have minimum and maximum MP requirements. If I want to resize a photo to 2000 x 3000 pixels for instance, I would like to be able to do that without estimating it by using percentages and using my calculator. Very time consuming
2) Being able to set the grid in percentage. This is very helpful for the Rule of Thirds. Setting it in percentage would make the grid also independent from any resizing or cropping. Not having this simple function is also very time consuming.
3) preview of the perspective control function
4) Stop dealing with Fotolia. People like me get Scr***ed because of it and it cost me money. (I sell through them, but I might close my account because of stuff like this)
