Yes, X4 is the new (most current) version. I'm glad they took the word "photo" out of the name - it was way too much of a mouthful. :)

Thxs, another question is the normal & ultimate has the same function & the difference is the bundled filters & etc..

I have the current PSPP x3 Ultimate can i get the X4 normal upgrade instead of X4 ultimate?

Yes you can get the regular upgrade you don't have to get Ultimate.

And yes, the only difference is the included bundle. And at $20 it looks like a very good bundle for those Nik Filters if you wanted them. The other stuff I couldn't care less about but those filters look good.

In your opinions, it's worth to upgrade from PaintShopt Pro X3 to X4? :)

Well I thought I would trial it first..nothing has changed the plugins that wouldn't work in X3
don't work in X4 so not worth me buying it..I thought Corel was going to fix all the problems
we had with X3..

My first hate with X4 are the black and white icons! Makes me feel as though we have regressed to the early '90s and monochrome monitors!! And the GUI is if anything darker than before. Sheesh! Just looking at it on screen puts me off a bit, regardless of whatever new bells and whistles they may have installed. I will, however, still test it some more to see what they might have fixed in the bug-ridden X3...

There is better memory handling, you can once again filter through the fonts, the pixel problem is gone, and all of my plugins work including the background remover plugin. Others have reported working Topaz filters. So if you are still having problems with plugins it isn't universal like with X3 and reports of specific problems need to be made to address such possible issues.

Thanks for your opinions. So, I purchased X3 a few days ago, and now I noticed the launch of X4. You, who uses Corel softwares for years, maybe, what are your opinion between PaintShot Pro X4 and Photoshop Elements 9? What is the better?

And, I can't find the same organizer tool I find in elements, in PSP. I would like to configure it to, let's say, to monitor/watch a folder, but I can't. Is it possible?

Thank you! :)

If you really only purchased X3 within recent days, you should contact Corel about getting a free upgrade to X4. They have been known to do that in the past with their products in similar situations...

Hello Ken,

Thank you very much.

I can't find the contact form/support area. Do you have the link, please?

I'm sorry -- I don't have any direct link. But you will find it up the Support tab of the Corel.com website. It appears to adjust itself to wherever you are located in the world, and gives you a contact phone number in that country. That's why I cannot give you a direct link myself.

I upgraded yesterday and so far so good but when I went to copy/paste (Command Name: PasteAsMultipleFrames) from Animation Shop 3 I got an error text: The specified file cannot be identified as a supported type! Dragging the frames across closed the programme

Surely NOT!??

They don't seem to have made one single addition to the painting functions of PSP, so I will not update. This is above all a painting software, one of the oldest and perhaps the most widely spread, used also by professionals. I think it's strange that they have ceased working with the painting functions. But probably they want to promote the flagship Painter-12. But PSP is still better in some respects. It is good that they have removed Photo from the name. It was very confusing.

Hi,

I am reluctant to upgrade due to the bugs not fixed from previous versions.

In particular:
1. The corruption of the transparent gifs using the Gif Optimizer tool.
2. Copy function is disabled when the Pen tool is selected.
3. Cropping of pixels when an image is pasted as new selection into an existing image

I have relayed these issues to Corel on a few occasions without response and really don’t fancy paying more money for functions that don’t work....still.

Cheers
