Hi all,
I am a bit confused.....probably from doing too much reading (overload!)
i have a hi8 vid camera
and a friend's minidv.
when i capture , i am assuming i am getting analogue from hi8
and digital from the minidv?
If so...should this dictate the properties of my capture (just it seems when i try to change settings to audio capture MPEG,the resulting file has lpcm?)
cheers

That depends on how you connect them, you're going to have to be specific.peacefrog wrote:when i capture , i am assuming i am getting analogue from hi8

If the HI8 camera is connected to an analog capture device, yes, it's analog. If the MiniDV camcorder has pass-through encoding and you use that, then it's digital. If the MiniDV camcorder is connected using separate vidoe and left/right audio cables, then it's analog.
If you are trying to edit a two-camera shoot, I would suggest you stick to a single video format to avoid field-order problems.
