Prodad stabilization
I tried the stand alone trial version from their site and it is very good. I had some shakey video and it made it tripod straight. The price of the stand alone is $119. I am thinking of getting it as it will be independent of VS. I can see why VS is charging what they are because this is not cheap software. With these new HD cams, this is a must, when a tripod is not feasable. The stand alone is 32 bit-no 64 bit for it now. I played around with it-split screen and all. It crashed a few times but, nothing that would impede the correcting of video. It is easy to use and very powerful.

Re: Prodad stabilization
Thanks for the useful assessment. I guess that I am one who lucks out in the hand-held stability stakes, aided of course by a good stabiliser in the camcorder itself. I also use a floating head tripod where feasible. But on the hand-held front, I wonder if the camera manufacturers are doing the public a disservice in making their camcorders so increasingly small. Personally, I find many of these very small AVCHD models too small to hold with any stability, regardless of what they may have under the hood by way of stabilisers...

Thanks for the feedback !
I personally have not use the plugin nor the whole VS X4 Ultimate version, so it's good to know from people who have used the plugin/program.

Re: Prodad stabilization
More info: It works very well with panning video and small hand held vibration when using the cam. The difference is quite noticeable. I tried it while walking down the street and there it was not good-you need a dolly on rollers for that. However, it will improve you video quality in many situations and I find it worth while. What's good about Prodad is it's better the the cam stabilizers.
I agree with you Ken. The new cams are too small and light in weight.
I am using the stand alone version-not the one included in VS Ultimate. I hope they work the same.
