After i import video files - and try to play them in Video Studio - the video is not smooth (i jitters) and the audio is not in sync with the video. When i play the same video file in windows media player they play well. The Videos are in full HD (.m2ts) format.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Video not in sync with audio
Welcome to the forums!
Your camcorder unfortunately uses the most demanding video format currently on the market: AVCHD. The camera manufacturers publish an awful lot of hype about how wonderful it is, and in truth there are many wonderful things about it. But what they never seem to say is that you need a rather powerful computer to be able to play and edit it properly. And again unfortunately, your computer is down towards the bottom of what is needed. Oh, it is capable of doing the job with some effort, but this will entail the sort of thing you have been experiencing. But it will certainly output playable edited AVCHD if you have the patience.
One thing included in recent versions of Video Studio -- and you haven't told us which version you are using -- is a tool called SmartProxy. This is normally switched on by default, so check in Preferences to make sure this is the case with your set-up. The tool creates small copies ('proxies') of your AVCHD files in a standard definition format which is easy to edit and play back without the problems you are experiencing. Then when you are satisfied, the edits are applied to the AVCHD and you have your final product.
Note that the process of creating these proxy files takes some time, so you have to be patient.

Re: Video not in sync with audio
SmartProxy if for editing. So you have to leave it time for the proxy (copy) file to be created. You edit that, and when satisfied the edits are applied to the original high def video. But just turning it on and playing back a High Def video is not going to make any difference.

Hi Ken
What version of Video Studio are you using???
X4 proxy is enabled by default.
Smart Proxy files are created automatically when first adding a HD clip to the timeline.
Your existing projects will not have proxy files created.
A double icon is placed on the clip indicating that proxy files have been created.
To manually create proxy files, right click a clip and select Create Smart Proxy Files
Then……
View the Smart Proxy Queue Manager to view any files being created.
View the Proxy File Manager to see the created files, have simular names to original
