Paintshop Pro x 3
I am unable to uninstall the free trial - it's not suitable for me so don't wish to buy. Get error message setup.xml missing. Can anyone help please. Tks

Re: Paintshop Pro x 3
Have you tried re-downloading and installing X3 (in the hopes of obtaining the missing setup.xml) and then trying to uninstall?
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed

Yes, i did that while still in my free trial period, but now it's run out. Have tried the manual way too as advised on here, but says it's open somewhere else, but it isn;t. tks for answering kathy.Kathy_9 wrote:Have you tried re-downloading and installing X3 (in the hopes of obtaining the missing setup.xml) and then trying to uninstall?

If it says it's open somewhere else do one of two things: Restart your computer and then attempt the manual removal.
Or Check to see if the PSPX3 Process is still running in the background somewhere. Hit Ctrl + Shift + Esc to bring up the Task Manager, click on the Processes tab and look for PSP.
Now, if neither of these work then start your computer in Safe Mode - this will make sure only the most necessary of processes are active and nothing in the PSP area should be open by any other process. If you don't know how to start in safe mode just restart your computer and start hitting "F8" on your keyboard. It should eventually pop-open a menu for startup option and you'll need to select 'Start in Safe Mode.'
Now, that being said I've never removed PSP manually let alone in safe mode so technically safe mode also may not work. I'm not entirely sure, but it is an option.
