Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 will not launch

Post by JCovert »

Hello, all.

It shows me a splash screen for three or four seconds and then nothing.

Brand new install. All service packs applied.

First make sure all instances of PSP are closed by opening up the Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) selecting the "Processes" tab and looking for PaintShop Pro.

If there are instances open click on them and hit the "End Process" button at the bottom of the dialog.
If there are no instances, then great. :D

Next hold "Shift" when opening PSP from the desktop. It should ask you if you want to reset PSP to factory defaults. Say Yes and see if that fixes anything.

@JCovert

Please try to create a new Windows User account from the Control Panel, login to that new user and see if you can launch PSP X3 from there. If you can launch the program, then the problem is with your Windows User name profile. You will need contact the Corel Tech Support, so that they can help fix the issue.
