Date/Time error

Post by davebelsey »

Hi,

I am a new user of PaintShop Photo Pro X3 - I have searched on the forums but cannot find any relevant entries, so my apologies if this has already been asked/answered.

I am creating photo scenery for Flight Simulator X - my source files are large bmp's. From each of these I create a greyscale file which I Save As a tif file. However, when I recompile the bmp and tif together, I get error messages. Most common is a reference to Date/Time being incorrect.

If I load the tif file in GIMP, it reports "Incorrect Count for field DateTime (21, expecting 20); tag trimmed" - If I then save the tif in Gimp, it recompiles without errors.

As far as I am aware, I have no tags in my files - can anybody shed any light please?

Dave.

Tags are the EXIF and IPTC data that organizers, cameras, and people tag their photos with. The date/time is most likely EXIF from your camera but the date time stamp is either not being saved correctly or it's being saved in an odd fashion.

When clicking "Save As" there is an "Options" button at the bottom of the dialog. You can turn off saving the EXIF information and that should stop the errors. Of course your images will no longer have the tags either.

Levi,

Thanks for the reply :)

I have no use for any info, all I want to do is create the tif files.

When I look at the Advanced Info for either the bmp or the tif, there is none displayed. The only entries are under EXIF 'Digitized Date' and 'Original Date', both of which show 'None' :?
