Video Studio Pro X4

Post by PA156GTA »

Hi All

Hope someone can help here??

I am new to using the above package and have been playing with motion capture today. The short clips are saved in Video Studio, and I have set up a folder on one of my drives to save the clips there as well, however the clips have a .UISX tag, and will only play within Video Studio. In other words if I try to open with any other video software it doesn't recoignise the .UISX tag. If I go to the folder on my PC where it is saved, I see the .UISX tag and all the individual frames, but when I try to play the file it doesn't recognise the format.

Can I save them in any other format? If I can't, and they stay as .UISX tagged video files, and I put them on to a DVD, will it play that file format? Also if I put a clip on to a memory stick and try to play on any other PC, which doesn't have Video Studio, then I guess it won't play?? Its not a format I have ever come across before!

Please help!!!!

Loads to learn about this but any pointers would be hugely appreciated.

Cheers

The UISX (Ulead Image Sequence) format is unique to Video Studio, and can only be opened in it. The idea, though, is to convert it, once you have finished editing it, into a more general video format. If you are wanting to include it in a DVD, for instance, it will have to be in mpeg-2 format since that is the format for DVDs under the international DVD standard.

Have you looked at the User Guide about it? If not, you can download the Guide in PDF format from http://product.corel.com/help/video/540 ... oX4_UG.pdf

Welcome to the forums, :)

UIS=Ulead Image Sequence, in other words a whole bunch of photos. It appears that you captured or converted video files to Ulead Image Sequence Files. These are used for doing some real painstaking editing to individual frames. Editing like Rotoscoping. Could you please provide us with more information, like what you captured your video files from, how you got them into your PC (device used), basically as much detail as you can. Without that we can only make guesses, which prolongs getting at your problem and fixing it.. ;)

Thanks. What I am using is a Logitec Webcam Pro 9000 conncted by USB to the PC. I am working with my oldest son (he's 12) as he wants to play with stop motion film making as a hobby. The USB connection to the PC downloads the pictures direct in to Video Studio.

Not sure what else you would need from me?

Thanks again for all the help.

Cheers

Cheers for that. I will have a look at converting to a more useable format once the stop motion filming is done.

Thanks
