Hi all
It has been a while since I have used VS Pro x3 and am just starting a new project but when I go to capture footage the only options I am getting are as per the attached screenshot,
I have tried two Camcorders (Panasonic NV-GS500) and Canon (HDV 30) neither are visible. Neither can I capture DV only DVD. All patched for ProX3 have been applied, so what is happening?
If I try to change the capture dource to HDV source, VS crashes.
New Specs for this PC are:
Acer Aspire M5910
i7 Intel processor 8GB RAM, Win7 64Bit Home Premium loads of hard disk space.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Not seeing camcorder VS Prox3
Can we assume you are trying to connect the camcorders with a Firewire cable?

Re: Not seeing camcorder VS Prox3
If indeed you are trying to connect via Firewire, then you could try a couple of things. First, a lot of us here use a small freeware program called WinDV to capture DV/AVI standard definition: www.windv.mourek.cz You could try that. And for your HDV camcorder, I use another freeware program called HDVSplit which works fine. Unfortunately, I don't have a link for it but a simple Google search will find it.
Second, it seems Microsoft changed the DV codec in Windows 7, and you have to change it back to the old -- or 'legacy' -- codec/driver. Have a look here to see how to go about it: http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 08#p217708

Re: Not seeing camcorder VS Prox3
Thank you so much Ken, yes I do use firewire and going back to the legacy bus controller has solved the problem. I am also taking your advice and using WinDV, although it isn't listing the Panasonic Camcorder, just "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR"
Again many thanks for your prompt effective reply.

Re: Not seeing camcorder VS Prox3
I am glad it is now working... And WinDV will give that response, but should definitely work.
