Sorry, i know this has been asked before probably by reading some older posts. My issue is, while editing the video, ( making music video ) it plays fine, got lips to match with music perfect. When I click share and then the option to watch it, its off in spots. I tryed saving it as a wmv at different quality's and its even worse. My pc is only couple months old and im currently at work so i dont know specs right off top my head. Its aggravating to spend house getting the music to match the video only to find out i wasted my time. I am using vs x4 pro the free full featured trial download. I did not wanna purchase it right off until I found out if I could use the software. And the software is very easy once you learn it. But bringing things down to terms that a goober like myself can understand, can anyone tell me whats going on and is there a way to fix it. The videos I am importing are off a new HD sony video camera. Thats all i can tell ya til i get home. Music is a mp3.
thanks ahead of time.

Re: Video sync to audio question
I'm afraid you are probably going to have to wait till you get home and get that information. It is next to impossible to know what to suggest until we know exactly what we are dealing with. The HD video camera, for instance, could be in either AVCHD or HDV format. It is also not clear if you are editing then creating a new video file of your project (Share > Create Video File) or jumping straight into the burning module ( Share > Create Disc). In fact, you have not actually told us what you are trying to produce: a new video clip? If so what format? Or a Blu-Ray Disc/hybrid AVCHD disc or a standard definition DVD?

Re: Video sync to audio question
Ok, sorry. I will be home in a few hours and check it all out. I was not burning it to disk rather then just clicking share and creating the file on the computer itself. But the video is out of sync when i watch it in any veiw other then the editing mode where you have the time line. Sorry again. This is all new to me. But I will be back later with specs and more info.
Thanks.
Jason

Re: Video sync to audio question
Ok, its a sony HDR-CX110 and the video files are a AVCHD file. Is this the problem? Or is that what they should be.
Computer is a AMD athlon 2 x2 255 3.10 ghz. Its not a high end computer. Just boggles me why some parts of video are fine. then other parts were just way off. In the edit mode when i play it, it works great. But even before the rendering when i click share and project playback its not the same. And I noticed if you go back to earlier spots in the video, and change just the littlest thing like a FX or something, it throws it all outa wack. I can live with that though.
Im sure you got the answer already. Thanks.

Re: Video sync to audio question
Your computer is as far as I can see a Quad core and should in theory be able to edit AVCHD video without too much difficulty, but previewing a project on the fly may look a little wonky. But AVCHD is an incredibly demanding format, and it is often better to switch on SmartProxy in Video Studio and edit with that. It creates copies ("proxies") of your videos in a low resolution format. You do your editing in that format, and when you are satisfied, the edits are then applied to your AVCHD.
The only other thing I can think of is, when you go to render your video into and video file, that you click the Options button and turn off SmartRender... That is often the cause of out-of-sync audio and video.

Re: Video sync to audio question
Well i just checked and all my settings are the way you mentioned. Maybe I need a real video card. I dont know at this point. I do like the software and now that i have the hang of it, I would like to figure this out. Guess it may take some working with.

Re: Video sync to audio question
It takes a while for the proxy files to be created, so you have to be a bit patient. And the video card will not be the problem.
