using winzip

Post by Alain »

I'd like to know if its possible to zip a jpeg file using Corel PaintShop Photo ProX3 without exiting Corel. Can Winzip be incorporated in Corel to be used in Corel, so that I may include it as a fonction in my scripts.

Thank you

PSP can't access other programs unless there is a plug-in for it. I googled Winzip plugin and the results I saw were all plugins that were zip files to begin with.
Even if you could do this why would you want too? You'd have a bunch of zip files with a single jpeg in each. Or is that what you're after?

Unless you go for the lossless format. ;) But there are other formats you might want to zip up and if nothing else a zip file does allow you to make the transfer of numerous files easier.

Now, I don't use WinZip so I have no idea how old this information is. But there is an add-on to winzip that offers a commandline option. Since scripting is done in Python it might be possible, using that add-on, to utilize WinZip from Python and get what you're looking to do. But that's mostly guess-work with absolutely no details on how to approach it.
