Videostudio Pro X4

Post by 654321 »

I have a couple of questions.

1 Why doesn't the dvd load all the extra content such as flash, audio, etc.? If I am correct you have to do this manually.

2 How do you add folders to the "Graphics" button? I added content to the individual folders such as object, frame, flash animation, but have not found a way to add another folder.

welcome to the forums, :)

1. The extra content is there for you to use if you choose to. Several people do not want all that extra stuff automatically loaded onto their computers. So just copy/paste the content.

2. As you've seen, the Graphics Category is just that. You add content to each one of the individual types, Flash animation, frame, object and color. Just the way they designed it.

Hi

As far as I know the software is generally in several parts.

1 / The main program
2 / An extra content
3 / A Bonus file (additional content or software)

The first two should be installed, the extra content completing the installation.
It will add not only content to the library but increase the gallery templates of the Create Disc process.

The reason for having two separate files is merely a size issue for download or saving to CD.

I think you should install the extra content file to get full benefit from the program………

Thanks. I haven't figured out how to add some graduated colors to the color pulldown in the graphics menu. Clicking on the folder beside "color" provides an option to change color but nothing to import new colors. Am I missing something there?

Gradients are one thing that Corel has not caught onto yet. Probably won't for another 10yrs or so. If you're wanting to use a gradient, you need to create an image in a graphics program, then import that as a photo. If you would like an animated gradient,
  • Drop a color swatch on one of the tracks. Then add the Hue & Saturation Filter.
  • Click the Customize Filter. The first keyframe should be the same color. At the bottom you should see 2 options Hue -180...180 and Saturation -100...100.
  • Move the playhead on the timeline and add a keyframe.
  • Move the Hue slider to change the color.
  • Repeat the above to apply different colors (Hue).

Thank you. I understand that and already have made my gradients and would like to add them to the graphics/color but cannot find a way to add them to "color". The "file opener" beside color does not allow you to go into windows explorer to retrieve new colors. It only allows you to change the colors already there. I tried simply dragging and dropping my new color gradients into "color" but that doesn't work either. Is there a way to do that?

Also, how can I add additional folders of my own title to the graphics button? VS9 had a library manager that enabled you to do that, but I cannot find that option in Pro X4

Your gradients must be in the form of an image/photo file, jpg, bmp, png ect. So you must add them to a Library/Folder you create. I agree you can not add anything to the Color swatches Library, just change the colors.

You still have the Libraries, just that all your video, photos, audio can be included in one folder. Titles still must go in the Titles folder. Having all your clips inserted under one folder is something that has been requested for sometime. You can keep your project more organized, the material needed to work on a project easily accessible.

Just click on the Add button at the top, and a new folder will be created, you then name that new folder. Now you can import all your material into that folder. You can also hide specific types so finding others is quicker. Say you have photos in your video project, and have a lot of both. Press the video and audio buttons at the top, those are now hidden, and all you see are your imported photos. I think it's about time Corel done the Libraries this way.

Thank you again! I would like to ask one other thing concerning instant project. I read the manual but still don't understand it. Videostudio 9 had a movie wizard. Basically you picked the pictures and the theme and VS9 did the rest. Is there a way to do the same thing with Instant Project? It seems that it can only be inserted at the beginning or end and I don't see a way to select pictures so they fit properly in the timeline. Once again thanks.

Hi

You are correct in your assumption.
Instant projects creates an introduction to your project, you then have to add images/video to complete the work.

Lets say you have added 100 images to the timeline as a slide show.
Selecting an Instant Project will create an intro or ending. I must admit some look very good.
Unfortunately they use Placeholder images to construct the intro, we have to manually replace these using our own images.
The easiest way is to drag an image from the library, float it over the placeholder press Ctrl and drop.

I can understand your annoyance in Corel removing the Movie Wizard, I know it exists in VS 12.
