Don't know, I posted a question in another thread from a newbie to the program, asking if he/she purchased the Ultimate, and what the build number is. Until someone posts that information we will not know. ;) Even though some of us beta-test for Corel, run this web board for them, we are still kept very much in the dark.. :x

Hi

Interesting, seems very similar to me, I downloaded the trial, the file is the same size as the X4 Pro so I guess the same.

Don’t know what proDAD Mercalli SE and Boris Graffiti 5.3 do, I’m sure they may be impressive,
and they are provided after purchase.

Not sure about the cost, think Corel are just trying it on.

Has the ultimate addressed the 50P / 60P frame rates?

I have played a bit with Boris Graffiti and I am impressed!
I have to say that for those who love scenic title, this plug-in is absolutely amazing.
At the beginning it may look a bit complicated to use, but once it has been understood how to create a title and apply to the Corel timeline, well... then the full huge world of options of the plug-in are there, ready to use.
Impressed!

Re the 50/60p question, I don 't see it in the comparison chart. And I would have thought it would be trumpeted as a major new feature if it were there. Otherwise, apart from Mercalli and Boris, the Ultimate version itself appears to have only more audio effects that the vanilla version...

Sorry if this has been answered before but is the Boris Graffiti that comes with VSX4 Ultimate the same as the Boris Graffiti that can be downloaded from the "Do More" tab link for $69?

I suspect the only people who can answer that are in Corel -- unless there happens to be a user out there who has previously bought the advertised Boris plug-in and has now also bought the upgrade to X4. Otherwise, who could make the comparison? But personally, I imagine it is one and the same... But the pro-Dad add-on in Ultimate appears to be quite different from the one in Do More.

I'm an older guy with a lightweight camera and keeping it steady isn't easy sometimes, particularly on zooms. So the Mercalli plug-in seems that it could be useful. For this reason I am thinking of upgrading to the new Ultimate. The vimeo movie http://vimeo.com/27899486 looks impressive. My question is: were those effects made using the SE version of Mercalli that is being distributed with Ultimate or are they from the full Mercalli edition that costs about $250? If they were from the SE version, then they are impressive and I would upgrade.

Is there anyone out there has tried the Mercalli plug-in with Ultimate? Does it work well? If it seems to be a crippled version, what has been removed? Anything important? A status report would be useful!

In reply to my own question I did see this in another topic

"I tried the stand alone trial version from their site and it is very good. I had some shakey video and it made it tripod straight. The price of the stand alone is $119. I am thinking of getting it as it will be independent of VS. I can see why VS is charging what they are because this is not cheap software. With these new HD cams, this is a must, when a tripod is not feasable. The stand alone is 32 bit-no 64 bit for it now. I played around with it-split screen and all. It crashed a few times but, nothing that would impede the correcting of video. It is easy to use and very powerful."

Apart from the crashes, this is encouraging.

...Apart from the fact that we still don't know if the X4 plug-in has all the functionality of the full stand-alone Mercalli, which is what Mike was talking about...

I ran a very short test earlier today using the plug-in. My test was done on a 30 sec clip, and quickly. It did smooth out the video, but was still not to my satisfaction. This is mainly due to the limited amount of time I had to work with it, and really knowing nothing about it.
