Blu-Ray: "STOP Media not supported"

I have WinDVD Pro 2010 retail box version, to play Blu-Ray. I've only used it a few times since I don't have many BD, but it's worked so far... until I got a new set of "Full Metal Panic!" from Amazon and popped it in yesterday. It showed the licensing warning at the beginning, then errored, "STOP Media not supported".

I searched all over, updated WinDVD to 10.0.5.819, checked for Windows updates, still the same error message. Finally I happened across an old Yahoo! answers post that simply said, "Windows 7 is too paranoid and gets screwy with BD playback, try running your playback software in XP compatibility mode and as administrator." Lo and behold, that worked, and I watched several episodes before turning in for the night.

So today I put the same disk back in.... and once again, "STOP Media not supported". I haven't changed anything since it worked last night -- I haven't even turned off the computer since then. How can I get this working consistently? I'm about ready to tear my hair out. Thanks!

Is the "XP compatibility mode and as administrator" still in effect on your computer? Because the problem can be with the media itself and not the playback software.
