VideoStudio 10.0 DVD creator problem

Post by andy-pandy1984 »

Hello,

I bought this bundled with ezcap in March this year, and have spent some time capturing videos to edit and burn a compilation with a menu. But when I get to the creator part, the "Next" and "Previous" buttons are not showing up, they seem to be under the title bar, or status bar. I can click the previous and next once, but not when it comes to the final step, when there is no sign of the next button. See image below. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

The screen resolution is set to: 1800 x 900 landscape on a samsung 17" R730 laptop running Windows 7.

Thanks,
Andy.

I don't remember the exact date version 10 was released but it was almost certainly before Windows Vista - let alone Windows 7 - V10 was never designed to run on Windows 7 and you are very lucky to have got so far on it - there is no patch for V10 on Windows 7 - you can try 'Alt+N' - might work - but if not then you have no option but to upgrade VideoStudio - we're now at Version X4 (thats 14 to most people)

Welcome to the forums, :)

If you haven't already, please read the topic at the top of this forum called EasyCap or EZCap. The legit EZCap does not come with VS 10, it bundles Arc Soft's product. So anyway there's one strike, you have a "knock-off" capture device.

Next the bundled version you have is called an SE version. Not only is it not compatible with Win7, but it took installing a "Vista Patch" to make is somewhat compatible with Vista. While a lot of older versions will run on Win7, its just that they may not be as reliable.

Have you manually updated your DirectX drivers recently? If not go to MicroSoft's website and do so. There's also a sticky post at the top of the forum that contains a link to it. This is not something that is done through the auto-updates of your OS.

This button absence was also found in VS X4 for Win7 users. There's a keyboard shortcut for the Next button, but I don't recall off the top of my head what it is. It's not listed in the documentation.

Edited I see Brian beat me to replying and he does mention the keyboard shortcut.. ;)

I bought this in March 2011, why was this program bundled if newer versions have been released? Dodgy website? I bought it from here: http://www.video-2-pc.co.uk/.
I just bought the usb device, and this software came with, the disc says "EzCAP" on it, which installed the drivers, and UVS10.0. Also, I tried the alt+n which didn't work, thanks anyway though. Is there no other way to get these buttons to show, other than upgrading, needed to get this disc done this week...

*EDIT*

Oh, it works!!! You do not know how much I love you right now lol!! Thank you BrianCee!!
I'll upgrade sometime, but for now, I'll get this burned on here *fingers crossed!*

Also, a quote from the website:
Software included:

Ulead Video Studio 10 - Full OEM version complete with serial number. Runs on all versions of Windows 7, Vista & XP. Captures & burns video to DVD. Ulead can also edit the captured video.
.

Looking at that, I wouldn't have known about it not being compatible with windows 7...

I guess I was ripped off, but if the DVD works, then I won't mind as much lol..
Thanks again,

Andy.
