Video studeo 9 - burning to cd and playing on a dvd player?

Post by Andydandy »

I just bought video studio 9 and I made a movie with my sons soccer pictures. I burned the movie to a mult use CD-R, which runs on the dvd player but hte music is jumpy and static sounding. Then I tried to paly it on my computer from the CD and it won't play the music. I was wondering if I am using the wrong CD's or if I am saving it incorrectly?

Please help!

Thanks,
Andrea

It's hard to say since you didn't explain exactly what you did.

If you burn a DVD onto CD media, you should keep the bitrate fairly low, no higher than about 5000Kbps or so, or standalone players may not be able to spin the disk fast enough to play it without skipping. This is because CD media has a much lower data density than DVD media, requiring the disk to spin faster in order to deliver the same amount of information to the pickup lens.

If the audio plays on a standalone player but not a PC, it's probably because of the use of AC3 audio. You can download a free AC3 DirectShow filter here that will allow you to decode the AC3 audio from within Windows Media Player and many other applications.
