Re: lose audio when converting swf to AVI
What format does the original SWF have? Right click on one of the SWF files inside VS -- either in the timeline or library windows -- and copy ALL its properties here please...

Re: lose audio when converting swf to AVI
This loss may be of no accident. Depending on how the creator set it up. Some Flash authoring programs, use an audio encoder (Lame MP3) that VS does not get along with. About the only way around this would be to use a specialty conversion program, made to convert SWF to whatever video format. I think that VS recognizes SWF files to be Video only animated files. While I have a SWF authoring program, I've never tried to create one with audio, and see what VS does. I've been through a few hair-pulling times, when the Lame MP3 codec caused problems with my VS installs.

Hi
You could try Share Create Sound File, this will create a Wav file of the entire project.
If successful drop the file into the project and mute the video.
Then try rendering the project,
By the way the original frame rate is very low at 12 fps?
By rendering to Mpeg or Avi this will effectively increase this to 25 by adding duplicate frames, may cause the video to be a little jumpy?

Re: lose audio when converting swf to AVI
Thanks- I am trying to use EM SWF2AVI, but VS still does not like it. When I attempt to open a converted file, both VS and My Documents folder (Internet Explorer) lock up and/or shut down.

Re: lose audio when converting swf to AVI
Just another thought, since your SWF files are to be used with a browser. There's probably some data written in the SWF that is suppose to work with a browser. Next the SWF probably has embedded action script, along with several movie-clips, that may have some special actions. These can not be read by VS and some conversion programs will not be able to correctly convert them to a video file. Just the nature of the beast.

Re: lose audio when converting swf to AVI
You may also want to check if the creator of the swf separated the audio, since there is no audio property on the SWF, you may want to check the CD where you got the swf file and it should be there.terrylb wrote:Macromedia Flash Files (v10.0.12.0)

My two cents worth. I was having similar issues with EM SWF2AVI and like Dwight mention, I used swfkits and I no longer have the same problems. Might be worth looking into.
