2 Versions on PC at same time
I have a 5-6 year Gateway PC with PSP XI installed with Vista. I will be getting a new Gateway next week with WIN 7. I would like to D/L the trial version of PSP X3 to my present PC with Vista without removing PSP XI. Would this work? Would I have trouble removing PSP X3 when I an done testing? Do you see any problems loading PSP X3 onto the new PC with WIN 7, I will be buying the disk from Corel for insulation? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me, Barnnie.

Re: 2 Versions on PC at same time
Both versions will co-exist on the same operating system.
X3 was "designed for" or "intended for" use on Windows 7, or rather no other version of PSP is "compatible" with Win7 even though most people have no problems at all with the installations of previous versions into Win7. There will be no tech support if you run into a problem though as Corel will want you to buy X3 or the latest version.
For removal there is a sticky thread at the beginning of the forum here for that.
Problems will abound installing X3 unless you turn off all other programs, turn off all security features including firewall, antivirus, antispyware, antimalware, and UAC. Since you're installing from a disk you can disconnect from the internet for the installation. You'll also want to run the installer as Administrator. If install doesn't work then try creating another account on your computer and do it all over again. After installation you can turn all your security features back on. It helps to also stand on one foot and repeat your favorite prayer or meditation while twirling a hula hoop on your left wrist with your eyes closed. No, not really but with installs taking over an hour to go then you'll want something to do with your time.

Re: 2 Versions on PC at same time
Don't let anyone tell you that X3 is the only version compatible with W7..
X2 which they are selling for $39.95US is far superior and works well with W7..
all plugins work..
Not so with X3 which I wouldn't recommend to anyone..
You will see they are just about giving it away..I wonder why!!!!!!
Cheers

Re: 2 Versions on PC at same time
There are some forum users and I myself can install and run PSP X2 Ultimate on a Windows 7 computer. But as per Corel's Windows 7 page and KB, PSP X2 Ultimate is not compatible with Windows 7 and if you need help with your PSP X2 on windows 7, we'll just tell you the same thing. IF you can install and use PSP X2 Ultimate on a Windows 7, then good for you but don't expect that all Windows 7 users will be able to install and use PSP X2.

Re: 2 Versions on PC at same time
Abiel I am in a few groups whose members are using X2 with W7 no problems..
The ones who have X3 like me have the same problems with certain filters..
I have been told to take my version 13.2.1.20 back to 13.2.0.35
by installing patches 1 and 2 which I have done FU works
as does Adjust but some Alien filters dont as with Ulead..
One can't win..Cheers
