Issue with 8BF plugin since last updates

Post by zaher »

Hello,

Since last PaintShop X3 updates, one of my 8BF plugin doesn't work entirely. The issue is the following :
- this is a plugin from an old version of Photoshop, named "variantes" ; it allows to add more primary colors
- when the window of this plugin is displayed, all thumbs are now black : so it is difficult to choose how much of a color I want to "add"
- however, if I validate "more yellow" for example, the plugin works.
But as I explained without displaying of the preview, it is difficult to use this plugin. What can I do ?

Have you installed all of the patches? I assume you have enabled allowing file format plug-ins to request pre-filtering of supported file types in File> Preferences> File Locations> Plug-ins.

Yes, this option is enabled.

I think that the preview for this plugin doesn't work any more since the 3° patch. I'll try to reinstall PSP from the initial version and then verifer avec each patch if my plugin always works... or not.

I think you are talking about adjust variations,
I have the same problem with X3 13.2.1.20
the plugin appears black and crashes with mine..
I have played around with the patches I think 3
which changes my version that plugin works
I do wish Corel could fix it I am told they are working on it..
Other filters that won't work for me..
FU, Xenofex2, Ulead there are a few others..
I have given up on X3 use X2 which is far better..
Contrary to belief that is isn't compatible with W7
it is..Cheers

Corel's definition of compatible is that there are no errors that they can't trace back to something specific. So the claim thqt PSPX2 is not compatible is true as there are some errors that different peoe experience that are in a sense anomalies. Welcome to the wonderful world of jargon.

Cheers how is is that Windows 7 doesn't come up and tell you that it isn't compatible as it does with 9..
I wish they would fix the problems in X3 but looks like at the cost they are selling $29.99US real cheap..
a new one may be on the way, I would be a bit hesitive to buy it..
Pity they couldn't get some of us to test it for them first before they released it..

Jargon, is unintelligible, barbarous, or hybrid language. In other words it uses words that either don't exist or mean different things based on who, how, or when they are used. Well, that's how I like to put it, though it's most often referred to a unintelligible or confusing terminology. So in the world of jargon Corel's version of "incompatible" is not the same as Microsoft's version. As far as Corel is concerned X2U is incompatible even if 99.99% of users can use it without problems resulting from what Corel defines as incompatibility. As a result they no longer have to directly support anyone using Windows 7 with X2U as it may or may not be a result of the incompatibility.

Problems capable of being fixed on Windows 7 as they are on Vista are simply handed the line "X2U is incompatible with Windows 7 try upgrading or using the compatibility mode.".
