Ive taken a photo of a coffee shop front, and im trying to implement my own logo onto the front. Its looking rather amateurish that i could have just went into paint and painted all over it then added text.
Ive tried using layers but im not really sure what im doing.
Can you write some guidance / tutorial please

Re: Paint shop pro help
It's kind of tough to do without seeing what you have to work with. If you could post the image of the coffee shop and logo, we could give you some suggestions.

Thankyou for your response, im not really sure how to post a image directly so ive uploaded it onto imageshack.Kathy_9 wrote:It's kind of tough to do without seeing what you have to work with. If you could post the image of the coffee shop and logo, we could give you some suggestions.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
or just incase http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/32/005juy.jpg/
I need to remove the white writing to blend in with the canopy colour/ similar colour whilst trying to make it look ' non painted on'.
My attempts have consisted of using just one raster layer which wasnt too successful as the white still showed through.

Re: Paint shop pro help
Well I'm on a lunch break so I don't know if I'll have time to upload it but I did make a quick video demonstrating one option if you'd like to see it I'll upload after 5. It's 12:40 here now.
But essentially my method employs the "Object Remover" tool.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogyt0t_a ... A&index=30 - A tutorial I did on The Object Remover tool a while back if you're curious
What the object remover tool does is it samples your image to cover up another part of your image. So it's not like painting over it.
1) Select the first line of text using the "Lasso" or "Freehand" selection tool. Make sure the mode is set to Point-to-point for easiest selecting of the text. I do this because the selection option in the Object Remover tool is freehand and I hate using freehand for something like this.
2) Grab the Object Remover tool (click the arrow next to the clone brush to reveal it and the scratch remover option)
3) Grab the "Source Mode" button on the tool options toolbar (it looks like a square next to the lasso)
4) Select the canopy above the text
5) Make sure Smart Blending is turned on
6) Hit the green check-mark to run the tool.
Repeat on the other side of the image.
Now for adding the text, make sure you have a font that you want. And write it out and then decrease the opacity of your text layer to allow the background to show through, it'll blend the text in and make it look like it fits a little more. From there you can convert it to a raster and use a tiny blur on it or you can go to Effects - Distortion - Displacement Map and see if you can't adjust those settings to make it look like the text is distorting along the cloth a little.
That's actually kind of hard for me to explain properly so I apologize if this isn't very helpful.
I have other tutorials like the one I posted above on the individual tools and while I did do one on layers I haven't gotten to the effects menu yet so I have nothing to show there, though there might be some videos on using that effect on Youtube if you do a search.
