Video studio 4 pro

Post by erabio »

I have just installed video studio and it works OK but I can not burn to disc. I choose "Create disc" and arrange my video, coming tu the last step I can't choose the drive and the "Disc type" shws "Empty" in red. The "Burn" button is greyed. I can burn the same project using NERO so the hardware is OK. What have I missed?

Sounds like Nero's drag-n-drop DVD storage program, has your DVD burner held hostage. Some of these type of back-up utilities will do this, and not let other programs have access. You'll need to check to see if that's the case. If so, some will just allow disabling that feature, and some take uninstalling it.

In Control Panel > Programs and Features, check if there is a Nero InCD listed. If there is, then uninstall it. That is the Nero feature Ron mentioned. You don't need to uninstall the whole of Nero -- just InCD, if it is there.

Now I have deleted the Nero 9 program and restarted the computer but I can't sill choose burner in the final menu for creating disc. The InCD feature was not installed.

Then I would use that. I never use VS to burn. I, in fact, use Nero. At the burn stage in VS I deselect burn to disc and instead choose to burn to DVD folders. I then use that to burn with Nero.

I do the same as Jeff...

And by the way, you will recall I said not to uninstall the whole Nero package -- only InCD if it showed up in Control Panel as an individual program under Programs and Features. So you can reinstall your version 9....

You can also try MSCONFIG > STARTUP tab > then uncheck any option that is related to Nero or InCD. You can also try updating the DirectX.

My problems never ends. I tryed "Create DVD folder". Started with a .mpg file. The program convert menu and then "Prepare output control" 51% ready. Then the program seems going into a loop. No progress. The cpu usage is 50% with a process "Vstudio.exe *32". Tryed "Create disc image" with the same result. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Something must be wrong?

I don't believe in coincidences, but it is becoming more and more coincidental, the common thread of Windows 7 64 bit in recent major problems with various Corel programs. :x

That said it's clear that you're using DVD Compliant MPEG-2, as you do not get Converting Title. So VS is not attempting to re-code your video files. The locking up on Prepare Output Control, which I think would be the Navigation to be used on the DVD, might be the old common problem with the Menu-In/Menu-Out option. Using these animated menus, used to routinely cause crashes. Are you by chance using them? I know we should be able to, but I don't need to remind you this is a Corel product. If you're using them, try the opposite, clear those options to use the Menu-In/Menu-Out and see if it still locks up. I would have thought by now it would have been fixed.

Re: Video studio 4 pro - Sahare -Empty disk

Post by snobird23 »

Hi Ron,

I am having the same problem creating a DVD. I save the video file as per the documentation and then choose Share, create a High Definition DVD. When I get to the create screen, I see a project name but my DVD drive is not identified and shows a red empty for the Dsic type.

I have previously used several Corel programs and Windows to demonstrate I can write DVDs, Corel DVD Copy 6 & Corel Direct DiscRecorder 3.5.

Both VS Prox4 & DVD Movie Factory are giving me a similar problem, i.e., will not write a DVD. My old version of DVD MF that came with VS ProX3 worked fine on the same computer hardware & software. What has changed is my upgrade to VS Prox4.

DVD MF shows the Next button active, but when I try to go to the DVD write screen, it just sits there or I get a "not responding" error from Windows OS.

I have all the latests versions of software and have removed & re-installed VS Prox4 as directed by Corel support. Currently they have not responded to any of my latest Emails.

Can you help me get beyond this issue?

Thanks
