When I booted up PSP today it asked me to download an update. "Okay," I say, and let it download. It asks me to install it, I tell it to do it later. I get some work done and close Paint Shop Pro. Then it reminds me about the install, and I let it do its thing.
After it finished installing my explorer immediately crashes, telling me that PSPPThumbShellExt.dll is the cause. I tell it to go ahead and reboot explorer, but the same error message pops up. So I reboot my entire computer and the second the desktop loads this error message pops up again. It is impossible to do anything else, as no matter how many times I tell it to reboot explorer or just X out of it, the exact same error message comes up.
Updated PSP, now its crashing my explorer non-stop

Try seeing if there's a system restore point at time before the update was installed, and restore your system to that time.
