I had a similar problem a few years ago, I deleted a bit of the movie at that frame and it worked, but this time thing works.
I am running windows xp prof Ulead vs 11. I. I have a project with jpgs, MTS, and MP4 files. While trying to make a video file dvd mpeg pal 16:9; the rendering fails when it gets to the mpeg4 file. The mpeg 4 files are 59.940 frame/sec, data rate 23174kbps while the MTS files are 25 frames/sec and variable bit rate. Should I render the mpeg4 files separately and then add them to the project?

Re: Frame 275 is unreadable
Welcome to the forums,
I would certainly try, however I think you're hang up is the MPEG-4 frame rate, of 59.940. That's basically one of the newer 60/50fps rates. It wasn't until VS X4 those frame rates were able to be correctly handled. I think VS 11 is going to fall over just because of that. It will try to recode the 60fps as half that, which is 30fps, by discarding half the frames. The playback will not be smooth.

Re: Frame 275 is unreadable
That is because half of the existing frames are going to be thrown away to match the new speed. And if you are going to include even 30/29.97 fps video in a final video which is 25 fps, then it is going to look even worse since VS will drop a further 4.97 frames every second to match the videos to the final speed of the finished video.

Since VS X4 can open old VS files, you can try saving your project and then download the trial of VS X4 then just create the DVD using VS X4. You can download the trial version at www.corel.com/trials

Re: Frame 275 is unreadable
Thanks Abiel ... but that still won't avoid the fact that the 59.94 fps video will still be downconverted to 25 fps and will thus look quite jerky...

Thanks for the prompt reply.
I rendered the mpg4 into avi and they seem to look quite ok. Now I will put them into the project and see how that goes.

Re: Frame 275 is unreadable
Well, the same problem occurs to me now.
I wonder why the rendering has to be cancelled due to 1 single unreadable frame.
For me, missing few frames every minute would be fairly acceptable.
Why does the software have to decide to stop the rendering by itself?
Why is the software not asking me (or let me set an option) about if this is ok and carry on?
It takes hours to render video files and because of 1 frame the whole work is scrap. This makes no sense.
When I view the original file with the video players I have, none of them ever stop to indicate "Sorry you cannot view the rest of the video because I was not able to retrieve frame number x". This behavior is completely irrational.
And, on the other side, lets say I want to fix or remove frame #206353, how can I reach this specific frame in the source file? I could not find anything like "Go to frame number" in the menus or options.
Also, it would be great if the rendering work could restart back where it was stopped instead of blindly rewriting the whole file.
What did some of you do about all this?
