AVI files unaccessible

Hi all,
i've already use DVD Movie Factory 3 in order to make DVD from avi files.
A friend of mine which has not yet a DVD reader divx-compliant asked me to convert his divx into a DVD.
But each time i want to add this file to the project, it tells me that it's unaccessible, although it works with DVD-Reader.

Can anybody help, pls ?

Hi,
you probably need to download and install the DivX Codec.
You can get it from DivX Web Free Download.
Hope that solves your problem.

but if i hadn't the right divx codec, i could not watch the divx file ; right or not ? Does Movie Factory need another codec installation ?

I had the same problem; both Windows Media Player and Ulead Player could run the avi files but the movie factory just won't load the files. My guess is the existing codecs are applications based (Win Media Player / Ulead Player), what is needed is a codec that is installed on the windows environment; either that or Ulead MF needed a newer codec version ?? Anyway the new D/L worked for me.

OK, thx,
so how can i be sure to dnl the right codec which will work with both players and Movie Factory ?
