Help with X2 and X3

Hi am new to this earlier this year I bought Corel X3 Ultimate at a price higher then they are selling it today..
I never liked it as certain filters wouldn't work..
e.g.Filters Unlimited will only work with a merged copy.
Xenofex2 doesn't but version 1 works..
Adjust variations crashes it..and a few others..
If they all worked it would be good..
Corel says it is the version made for Windows 7'
Last month I bought X2 paid version which Corel state it isn't compatible with W7..
I disagree all the filters work and I found it to be excellent..
and so do a lot of other psp'ers
But!!!!!! here comes the but..
I was given the download, serial number installed it fine..updated it..
Worked lovely until I close it each day and up comes
You have only so many days left..I am down to 19days left
Corel have been great they gave me in return the Ultimate version..
So I uninstalled X2 put in the X2 Ultimate now some filters that woked before don't..
Ulead...in particular..
I have read that is what happens with the Ultimate version..
So now I am waiting until my 19 days are up and see what happens.
Another psp friend bought X2 as I did on the same day and she gets the same you have so many days left..
Can anyone help please..Cheers

Welcome to the forums,

Yes you not only must provide a serial number, but the program must be activated as well. Go HERE for instructions on activation.

How was it I didn't have to activate X3 I have had that since January..
Both versions are paid and not trial..
I was given the download and serial number then I registered it..

Read this before you download…
If you are unlocking a trial, there is no need to download the software again. Simply launch your trial and enter the serial number (SN) provided below. You will then have a fully functioning version!
If you do not have a trial version installed, please download the software by clicking the download link below.
Please Note: due to the wide variety of Corel software you might see the terms "Purchase Key" "Unlock Key" and "Serial Number" used in installation instructions for some products. They all mean the same thing and describe the same activation procedure

There is a max limit of activations, of around 3. When you have reached that limit that you must contact Corel to have them reset your activations. I've had to do this on a few occasions, and should for my PSP X2, since I've exceeded them on my laptop. However I'm not concerned about having that version on my laptop right now.

Officially PSP X2 Ultimate is not compatible with Windows 7. Also Ron is correct that if you installed a download version, you will need to activate the program. Though the activation is only needed to be performed once.

Regarding the plugins that is no longer working. Can you tell me what is the name of the plugin? So that I report it and have it tested.

The plugins not working with X2 Ultimate are the Ulead ones..
With X2 they work..
Plugins not working with X3 are Xenofex2.Filters Ulimited Adjust variations.
there are others but i have given up using it
A great feature in both X3 and X3 is the search in the organizer,
you can search for a type of tube and they all come up..
When I bought X2 from Corel they gave me the download and serial number..
so it isn't a trial version..if you read what came with it the serial number activated it..

I see you are part of Corel Support whom I have been in contact with..
I found them very good but not once did they say I needed to activate it.
nor to a friend who bought hers the same day as me she has the same error message,
(she is in contact as well..)
which reads as below.
"No asset found for trial download (License ID:540228037) with 18 day(s) left,
source type 1, lang ie and source ID 917001."

This I have sent to Corel..
No-one has said it needs activating..

Hi All last night when I closed down X2 came up with 17 days left..
but my friend who bought hers the same day as mine,
when she closed down up came a notice you need to activate,
up came an activation code and she had to put in her serial number,
this hasn't happened to me so I wait hopefully..

Hi Filly. Did you got yours X2 activated? I have same error message ""No asset found for trial download" and I cannot activate. The activate button seems to be missing.

I managed to resolve this issue by using advice given on Corel support pages but with relation to similar but different issue.

As advised, I disabled network connetion and started my PSP X2 and then closed it. Popup with trial lapse indication appeared but this time with previously missing "activate" button. At this point I turned the connection on and was able to activate product through Corel website. Great success!

Worth noting that so far it looks like the only element that is not compatible with Windows 8 is product activation piece. Hmmmm...
