Nature of the problem
I have used MovieFactory 7 with XP and now with Windows 7. This problem occurs with both operating systems.
I am making a NTSC DVD timeline and I place the .m2t file (video only) on the timeline and the bar graph shows I still have lots of space. I then go and add the sound (wav) file and the bar graph goes way into the red as if I had added another
complete video file which I haven't. I tried turning the .wav file into an .mp3 to see if that helps but nothing changes.
Properties of your source files (format, file size, where did you get it?)
I try to keep my source files around 1h10m or less but it still happens. I have tried going to output the file to DVD even though it is in the red and MovieFactory replies that it might not work. As soon as I click yes to try anyway it shows a bar graph that is now only in the yellow not in the red. But sadly it fails to burn the DVD.
Does anyone have any solution? Thank You.
Error Codes (if any) The error code when it fails to burn has something to do with "Unspecified".

Re: Sound file fills up the timeline cannot burn DVD
Welcome to the forums,
How are you adding your WAV file? Are you somehow adding it to the Timeline where you place your video (titles)? I've added music through the Edit Room, and am able to add several WAV files for a video clip, and the bar barely moves. You are creating a video DVD and not a data DVD?

Can you also check a the lower left corner of the screen. does it say "DVD 4.7 G" or something else? If it's something else the better change it to DVD 4.7 G by clicking on the option itself and select DVD 4.7 G.
