Layout help when creating a DVD .....

Post by xtal_01 »

OK, I am use to using Ulead 9 and seem to be dumb as dirt when using Movie Factory 7

For the most part they are alike. I am having a problem when I go to make a DVD.

I am able to start the project but in Ulead 9, I could "choose a template", then choose "customize". This would give me three options 1) scene frame 2) layout 3) Button image. Using the Layout option, I could choose the number of "boxes" that would show up, each representing one video clip on the disc.

I just don't seem to find the equivalent on Movie Factory. I have looked everywhere. There is only a few layouts. I don't see where I can add any boxes to it. I am even having problems figuring out how to get rid of things I don't want on the screen. I changed the background picture but had a bunch of "junk" I didn't want.

Any help ( or even showing me where I can find a tutorial on it) would be great!

Thanks ..... Mike

Welcome to the forums Mike, :)

The Smart Scene menus will only allow customizing the buttons. Thumbnail menus provide customizing frames, layout and navigation buttons. You should have numerous templates for each of the menu categories, Smart Scene (22), Text (16) and Thumbnail (30). The customization is done the same in DVD MF7 Pro as it is in VS 9.

The only way to remove objects, is to hide them. Right-click on the object and select Hide Object. Just as in VS 9, the objects are not deleted, so using the DVD remote, they might still be selected.

Thanks!

I think I found the problem. I had a trial version and it must have gotten "confused" when I did the "real" install.

I see the templates for example, I only have 4 templates, 2 chooses for button layout, ect.

I will do an uninstall and then a clean install with the purchased discs. I am hoping this will solve the problem.

Thanks for the help!

Mike

PS ... sorry for the double post ...
