How do I download the free goodies from Pro X4

Post by Mike Warren »

I discovered that the font I used throughout my project, called "Eraserhead"... I think thats it, is not listed in VS Pro X4. They seem to have removed it. It also disappeared in Pro X2's font list and in my project. Do you know what happened?

Hoping to find it, I downloaded the free Font Packs 1 and 4, which along with other free goodies was hidden beneath the orange button in top right corner. Good! I downloaded them and it now says "installed", but... where do I find them??? I looked every where.

Regards, Mike

There is no way that I'm aware of to identify the fonts that were installed. You just need to scroll through the fonts when applying a text object.

The best is to just check on your FONTS folder via the Control Panel. Because that's where all the fonts being installed. If you like to download more templates you can visit http://www.photovideolife.com/

For what it's worth, I don't have a font called Eraserhead either in my general fonts collection or anywhere in X4 -- and I certainly downloaded all the available fonts.

The closest I have to Eraserhead, is the Eras Demi ITC and Eras Light ITC font. It is one of the International Typeface Corporation fonts.

Doing some searching I found an Eraserhead font, that is a ITC Serif Gothic. It can be purchased through Adobe at http://myfonts.com

I too only have the Eras series in Control Panel, and available in X4 and for that matter my Adobe Photoshop CS4 which does not have Eraserhead either...

That's strange, since I used Eraserhead many time in my project on VS Pro X2. Now its not listed in Pro X2 either. Eraserhead looks like your printing by hand using a stick of chalk sideways on a blackboard, with course edges. For instance, gives a crude look for chapters in a video on street kids. Now with Pro X4 I can't find anything even close to it. I don't know what happened. I'm wondering... is the fonts in Video Studio, and listed in Control Panal, rooted in Windows. I ask since I recently installed a new Windows XP with all its updates. :?:

I've just checked my WinXP machine, it too does not have an Eraserhead font. What other software did you have installed in the past? It's possible that it came with some other software and was removed when it was uninstalled.

I may have found it... http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/fonts-E.htm

Well maybe not, It works in a photo/graphic program, but does not display properly in VS.

I found an eraserhead font in http://www.typenow.net/themed_comm.htm but may not be the font you are looking for. It does not resemble like a chalk-like font. Bimbing

It could have been installed with another software, since you've had it on VS X2.
