I am using the registered Trial version of VS X4. Rather than buying the activation code, I had purchased the Full boxed version. My question is, do I have to uninstall the Trial version first before installing the Full version from the supplied disk?

In a word, yes. It's highly recommended. If nothing else, the trial version is missing various bits to keep the size down.
