Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
I am not a techie. I have just encountered the problem with PSPPro.msi. Did Corel dump X3 at a bargain price ($24.99) to get that version off their hands? What's next? Is there any way to solve the PSPPro.msi problem? Is there an X4 version coming that solves this problem? I was able to email photos directly from Elements 8 on Vista. Then I got a new desktop with WIN-7 and my problems began. I was hoping PSPPro-X3 would provide a simple method to email photos. Unfortunately, it is a major disappointment, especially after reading the messages here and realizing Corel can't or won't provide a simple fix for non-techies like me. <sigh>

Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
They are not dumping it, and a new version is in the works. Corel employees have suggested that we buy X4 when it comes out. I honestly want to say Corel didn't want to release patch #3 the way they did, mere speculation on my part, as when it was first released only a small number of people got it and tech support was denying it existed. Then the link to it was being passed around by users who did get it and we started downloading using that link instead of the update downloader or patches page and it was then released. Not too long after patch #4 was released fixing a few problems that were introduced in x3. I know its unlikely considering they didn't just take down the patch to prevent downloads and if they did realize there were problems they could have easily stopped the downloads right away but I like my idea. I call it my happy bubble of denial.

I managed to get my Elements 8 "sharing" client to work. It's not as efficient to send photos as it was in Vista but it's better than PSPPro. I hope there's a patch coming from Corel. Otherwise, I will dump the program.
Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
I'm happy to report that Corel Support weighed in with a re-install and then some. PSPPro X3 now appears to work (fingers crossed) - I can send emails with images attached. I still don't like the email screen but, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
The most efficient email client for me was Photoshop Elements under XP and Vista. Now, with WIN-7, all my emailers are kind of clunky. Mainly, there is no automatic saving of outgoing messages. Too bad that
as some software seems to move forward in its features, others regress. C'est la vie!

Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
JStanley,
Any chance that you might be willing to make a zip package of those files (your frst post)? That would save me having to completely uninstall /reinstall X3 to correct the problem.
If you are willing to do so let me know here and I can PM you an email address.
Thanks.

Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
I was refering to embedding photos in an email post. Elements (within XP and Vista) had an efficient set of steps you followed to either attach photos or to embed them in the post. The images were automatically downsized to small JPGs. Then, you were presented with a choice of sizes, choice of frames, your captions, insert a message, then activate mail client, followed by sending the message with an automatic save. One can still do most of that but no automatic save. I want Corel to succeed to give mighty Adobe some competition. In the process, we'll get better products.

Re: Paint Shop Photo Pro Post-SP3 Fix
I am aware of PSPPro's email client for posting photos. I don't like the sidebar billboard attached with the photos. Is there any way to eliminate the billboard: "Enter Album Name Here / View Slideshow / Download All / This album has x photos and will be available on Skydrive until..." so as to leave the bare image(s) in the post?
