I ned your help. I've had Paint Sop Pro 11 loaded on my system for about 3 years now and I've been very happy using it.
I recently had a new motherboard fitted and the programme was working fine but last week, when trying to load a picture, I got an error warning "Buffer Overrun Detected" and relates to the programme .exe file.
Any clues what I should do?

If you somehow installed PSP 11 on your WiIndows 7 computer, then the problem is that the PSP 11 is not compatible with Windows 7. You may want to upgrade to PSP X3, since you are eligible for the upgrade price if your PSP 11 is registered and not an NFR or the OEM version. You can also download the trial via www.corel.com/trial

While not officially supported, I and others have successfully installed and run PSP XI on Windows 7. I am not using any compatibility settings. I have not run into any issues, though I'll admit I don't use XI that much any more.
There's always the uninstall/reinstall and hope your problem disappears trick, but there are a few things you can try first. Be sure that you have installed the update patches, through 11.20. Among other things, the 11.20 patch contained fixes that dealt with issues running PSP XI on Vista. Since Windows 7 is based on Vista, it would likely follow that this patch may yield better results on Windows 7 also.
Another thing you could try is resetting your caches and/or workspace: File > Preferences > Reset Preferences... -- then choose Delete All Cache Files, and click OK. If that doesn't resolve the problem, try Reset Workspace to Default Configuration, from the same dialog. Before doing that, I'd recommend that you save your workspace so that you may recover your settings if this doesn't fix the problem; do this with File > Workspace > Save.
Finally, if the problem is confined to one image, there may be something about that image (corrupted, etc.) that is causing PSP to crash. If the problem is confined only to very large images, then there may be insufficient memory. If this is the case, increasing the amount of virtual memory available in Windows may be a temporary fix, but it could be at the expense of performance.

Re: Paint Sop Pro 11 - corrupt
Abiel - PSP XI was already loaded before the new motherboard was installed and worked fine before then, this Is why I thought the new motherboard was the issue (can't afford to upgrade, even though I'd love to) It also doesn't help that we can't find the original load disc to reload the programme!! It seems it never rains but it pours!!! This is what happens when you move house and put something in a safe place...then forget where the safe place was...so it's REALLY safe!!
WDS937 - I'll give your suggestions a try and let you know how I got on
Thanks for responding guys

WDS - Just tried the first of your suggestions but the "Corrupt programme" error screen pops up and when I click OK the programme shuts down so can't even start to fix the errors...sad day!!!
Re: Paint Sop Pro 11 - corrupt
Hi folks, alfieb's wife here - who actually had the problem.
It is not one image that is corrupt, but PSP XI won't load up fully. It starts to load but then we get that message he has quoted.
It is not a W7 problem, we have worked on W7 with it for over a year now. We had a new motherboard put into the computer (yes a year old and needed a new motherboard). I don't think it has anything to do with that because it has been working well with the programme.
What happened is that last week I was working on a new design. The design went well and pictures all loaded fine. I saved it and then went back to work on it but PSP would not load properly, just get the message below. Nothing to do with a picture but the programme itself has become corrupt.
I bought PSP XI about 3 years ago, had the disk a year ago because I loaded it onto this machine, but cannot now find the disk:( I need to find a way of getting this back running because I can't stand ADOBE Photoshop - far too slow. Is my only option to buy the programme again>

Unfortunately, if that's PSP X2, you may still request for a replacement disc, since it's already a legacy version. upgrading to PSP X3 is the best way to go. If you have registered the serial number of PSP X1, then you are eligible for the upgrade price, which is much lower than the full price. Also I recommend that you download the trial to have a feel of the new version. You can download the trial at http://www.corel.com/trials

Sometimes Purplus (http://www.purplus.com) will have old versions of PSP on sale when they are getting ready to close them out of inventory. Have a look at their site and click the Clearance link on the left.alfieb wrote:I bought PSP XI about 3 years ago, had the disk a year ago because I loaded it onto this machine, but cannot now find the disk:( I need to find a way of getting this back running because I can't stand ADOBE Photoshop - far too slow. (I have no interest in Purplus other than as an occasional customer.)
Sometimes you can also find used copies of software from some of the sellers on www.amazon.com. Just make sure you are getting legitimate software, rather than some virus-infected, pirated copy.

How could anyone who works with psp creations advise X3 as the best way to go..
It is no good..not only I say but hundreds of others in the various groups I am in..
A lot have gone to Photoshop they are sick of Corels products..
Corel have reduced the cost now down to $24 US so that speaks for itself..
