KPT Plugins Not Working

Post by W Wheatfield »

Yesterday I purchased Paint Shop Pro, downloaded it along with the extras -- KPT Collection, Magic Bullet, Win Zip, etc. -- all of which I was able to load/run, but the KPT Collection of effects/filters are not available. The filters are listed under plugins on the menu, but they are not highlighted and therefore can't be accessed.

Is there something I'm missing in trying to use the KPTs or something else that needs to be done to activate them? I did a search here on the forum, but didn't see anything that related to this problem. Also, I tried to figure out how to contact Corel directly for some help but was unsuccessful.

Thanks for any help you can provide?

When you try to access the KPT Collection via EFFECTS > PLUGINS > KPT COLLECTION. So you have a photo open or none? If no images is open the KPT COLLECTION will not be accessible.

Yes, I had a photo open, but I was still unable to select from the list.

In any event, when I just checked the KPT collection was working. I have no idea why or how as I haven't done anything differently, but everything now seems fine.

Thanks.

Perhaps the image you had open had a color depth that was too low. It appears that the KPT filters are grayed-out for any color depth below 32K.
