installing TBYB pspp x3

taking online photocourse- this program is req'd. downloaded trial version, and the the Akamai Download Manager, after saving (tried to just run install file) PSPP_X3_TBYB.exe to desktop file opens, to a blank black screen. program name appears at top and 'cancel' button available at the bottom, even after restarting computer and both un-and re-installing and leaving open for several hours, I am unable to proceed to 'next.'

windows vista if it helps and relativly new computer, not that tech-y or i'd have more specs, but i previously had adobe which installed, opened and worked fine.

If you are getting a blank installation screen, create a new Windows User name with Admin rights, then use that new user name to install the trial.
