Hi
I have been away for a while and would like someone to spoonfeed me with links and info to what I really need to get going these days. I used to use Ulead VS 11 as editor, frameserving some 3rd party mpeg maker to get the best Q for my DVD's. And then I did the DVD's with VS9, because my, and also some of my friends DVD players didn't coop with VS11 DVD's.
Thats more then three years ago. I still have my, these days old, DV 3ccd panasonic camera and are now using a PC with W7 64 bit.
I recall there was some "hands on" in the heydays... so would the newer VS X4 be worthwhile to invest in? As I said I still use my old DVD camera and are mostly interrested inDVD's
Nice to be back on track again. Cheers all // Ove alias Radioman62

I still mostly work with dv-avi, on a P4 workstation, and X4 works fine. Whether it works for you is a matter of personal opinion. Why not download the trial and give it a spin?

Re: Whats up three years later?
Thanks Black Lab
I can't see any changes from the old Ulead versions, exept BlueRay H264. Anyway, the X4 seems as good as the older Ulead VS 9 and 11. What is new for oldies with Mini DV cams, doing DVD's with 5.1? Nothing?
Offcource some finetuning, to an allready good software, has been made. And thats far better then plenty of new functions to a buggy software. But I can't see why I should buy it when I allready have the UVS 11.

Re: Whats up three years later?
And still .....
Black is not all black when encoded to mpeg2. Same as it was way back in 2005 and forward. At least on my TV set. Panasonic PAL. I these days have a new 42" flatscreen Panasonic compared to my old 4:3 "fat TV set" Sony Trinitron. The same experience.....
I guess I have to "up" my rusty knowledge on the cumbersome audio/video splitting and frameserving to Procoder or some else, third party mpeg2 encoder.
I'm amased no one else discuss this. Am I to picky? I want the same look, contrast and colors, as with the DV tape straight to the TV set, even if there, offcource, could be some artifacts from the encoding itself.
Here is my almost 6 years old thread on that problem.
Anyone knows what I'm talking about?

Fine, then don't. But try doing Stop Motion Animation, Time Lapse Effect, 3D, Moving Path Picture in Picture, Transitions on Overlay Tracks, Title Effects, 9 Title Tracks, with UVS 11.But I can't see why I should buy it when I allready have the UVS 11.

Re: Whats up three years later?
Well, how can you use them if they are not available? You'd be suprised at what you can do when the tools are available.

Re: Whats up three years later?
Stop Motion Animation and Time Lapse Effect I'm not interrested in ftm.
The other ones I may take a closer look at. I don't do exaggerated comercial movies so I may not need it. There was some intro links following X4. I will take a look at them
