Video Studio Pro keeps crashing

I have Corel Video Studio Pro X3 and I can edit video clips fine. But when I go to either save the edited version or upload it to Youtube, about a third of the way through the entire program crashes and takes all my hard editing work down with it. I haven't had this program long; is it going to do this every time I try and edit video footage? Is there a way to avoid this? FYI, I have Windows 7.

When you say SAVE the video, did you go to SHARE > CREATE VIDEO FILE or just FILE > SAVE? Also can you provide us some information about the video that you are editing, the properties perhaps.

I had been doing Share -> Create Video File, but I could also do a File -> Save if I needed to. When the program crashed, whenever I restarted it, it asked if I wanted to restore (or something like that) the previous file, which saved my behind.

I right-clicked on one of the video clips in the timeline to get the properties you requested (see attachment).

Those are two entirely different procedures. File>Save merely saves your project as a VSP (Video Studio Project) file, which is essentially a text document that tells the program what goes where and what edits are applied to what. Obviously, Share>Create Video File creates a video file (avi, mpeg-2, etc.)
