Paint Shop Pro X2 damages self, then deactivates

Post by walkerstoo »

I purchased, downloaded PS Pro X2, it downloads and works fine. Then every night it seems to deactivate itself. When I go to use it I get an error message " This ccopy pf Paint Shop Pro has been damaged or illegaly modified. Please reinstall from original source" I reinstall, it works fine....then same thing happens again. Any ideas to a fix?

Check to make sure you have the Protexis Licensing Service enabled. If it is disabled you will get that error message.

Welcome to the forums, :)

This might be due to Corel's anti-piracy service they have been using. It's called Protexis Licensing. It must be active at the time the program runs. See the post in the following link.

Now that I have found where the Protexis files are I see another problem. There are two Protexis files:
Protexis Licensing and Protexis Licensing V2. One or the other keeps "disabling" itself. I turn one one, PSPX2 works...then the next day on of the Prtexis files is disabled again

Any ideas why??
